LIVE: Patriots Roster Cuts - NFL Deadline 4 p.m. Eastern

This thread will update with the latest Patriots roster cuts ahead of the 4 p.m. deadline TODAY, Tuesday, August 26th. 

 

Cuts to go: 0 players.

 

Players released:

 

OT Demontrey Jacobs - started 13 games last season but he struggled in most of them and fell down the depth chart this off-season. 

 

K Parker Romo - he had a really good camp and only for his competitor was drafted by the team would have made it. Tough on him but hard to imagine he won't be in a job very soon.

 

CB Miles Battle

 

CB Brandon Crossley

 

WR John Jiles - if he clears waivers, he'll probably be back on the practice squad.

 

S Marcus Epps - first somewhat surprise, veteran safety signed this year but he did struggle in camp and he requested his release which the team granted. Kyle Dugger would appear to be safe now.

 

TE CJ Dippre 

 

DT David Olajiga - the Patriots get an international exemption, meaning they are allowed to carry an extra player on the practice squad

 

C Alec Lindstrom

 

G Mehki Butler

 

LB Cam Riley

 

RB JaMychal Hasty

 

EDGE Truman Jones

 

UPDATE: Elijah Ponder and Efton Chism make the Patriots 53.

UPDATE: Patriots are actively shopping Kyle Dugger, and with 20 minutes to go until the 53 deadline are going to have to make a decision very quickly.

 

 

3:45 p.m. The Patriots roster is by our count at 61 players right now, unlikely the FO in Foxborough have the same number, we just haven't been informed of further cuts.

 

3:52 p.m. At this point, looks like Javon Baker has made the initial 53.

 

3:54 p.m. Kyle Dugger is confirmed to have made the 53.

 

BREAKING: It is 4 p.m. on the east coast, the NFL 53-man roster deadline has now passed. All 32 NFL teams must have 53 players only on their rosters. Our number for the Patriots still sits at 61 players, but in reality, and internally at Foxborough, it is 53. We will be updating this thread once we receive confirmation on the transactions that have occurred.

 

 

UPDATE:  C Cole Strange, EDGE Bradyn Swinson, CB Kobee Minor, WR Jeremiah Webb, DT Jahvaree Ritzie, G Jack Conley all cut. Jahlani Tavai and Ja'Lynn Polk placed on IR.
