Patriots: Bills roll into Foxborough and Snap Pats' Win Streak

The New England Patriots surged out to a dominant early lead against the Buffalo Bills, but were unable to sustain their momentum as Buffalo mounted a second-half comeback for a 35-31 win. New England jumped ahead 21-0 behind an aggressive offensive approach and a defense that stifled Josh Allen early. Quarterback Drake Maye rushed for two touchdowns, and TreVeyon Henderson delivered explosive scoring runs of 52 and 65 yards. Despite scoring on four of their first five possessions, the Patriots managed only one touchdown after halftime, opening the door for Buffalo to rally.

Allen rebounded from a slow start to deliver a masterful performance once the Bills found their rhythm. He finished 20 of 29 for 193 yards with three passing touchdowns and added key runs to extend drives. James Cook complemented the effort with an efficient ground game, averaging 4.9 yards per carry and scoring twice. Buffalo erased a 17 point deficit by producing five touchdown drives after falling behind 21-0, repeatedly capitalizing on favorable field position and defensive penalties.

New England briefly reclaimed the lead in the fourth quarter when Henderson broke free for a 65 yard touchdown run, but Buffalo responded immediately with another methodical scoring drive. Cook’s 11 yard touchdown run put the Bills back in front for good with under seven minutes remaining. The Patriots defense forced a late punt to give Maye one final opportunity, but the offense stalled on fourth down and Buffalo closed out the victory.

The loss snapped New England’s 10 game winning streak and dropped the Patriots to 11-3, tightening the AFC East race after a game that began with so much promise. While the Patriots remain firmly in contention for the division title, the collapse overshadowed what had been one of their strongest first halves of the season. New England will look to regroup next week when it travels to Baltimore for a Sunday night matchup against the Ravens.
