Week 2 Power Rankings

1. Buffalo Bills
Buffalo didn't look so hot, until they did, coming back from a 15 points deficit to beat another Vince Lombardi Trophy contender in a Highmark Stadium that had swiftly emptied in the third quarter as it appeared the Bills' chances of winning this game had evaporated and folks attempted to beat the traffic. Both Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson produced MVP-worthy performances on Sunday Night Football, and while Jackson certainly was not at fault for Baltimore's loss, Allen was largely accredited with the reason Buffalo won. It would be unfair of me not to give a hat tip to Matt Prater, who was clutch all game. Bills move into the best team in the league spot.
2. Philadelphia Eagles
Philadelphia were my top pick coming into week one, and only for Buffalo's heroics, they would still be my top pick. Philly is still Philly, however, and took care of business in the division against Dallas on TNF.
3. Baltimore Ravens
Baltimore looked the real deal on Sunday. Only for a miraculous Bills comeback, they'd have threatened the number 1 spot. But for now, they sit at 3, which is up 3 from where I had them before the opening games.
4. Kansas City Chiefs
Kansas City falls two spots after a disappointing showing against their division rivals. No need for panic stations yet but if they continue to trend towards such poor performances, it could be a cause for concern in Kansas City. I was not impressed with the Chiefs.
5. Green Bay Packers
Packers are one of the biggest risers, climbing 6 places, due to their impressive win against division rivals the Detroit Lions. Parsons lit up the stage with an excellent performance. It might be too early to tell but I'll safely say Green Bay won that trade.
6. Washington Commanders
Washington Commanders had a commanding win against their division opponents, the New York Giants. With that said, they fail to move in the rankings and remain at 6, for now at least.
7. Los Angeles Chargers
A statement win in Brazil against last year's finalists, Los Angeles, shot up the rankings by an astounding 10 places from prior to week one. If they can play like that consistently, they might just win the division.
8. Detroit Lions
A disappointing loss to the Packers on the road in Green Bay but I saw enough from this team that I think they'll be fine. Not moving them too much up or down as a result.
9. Los Angeles Rams
Rams were far from impressive on the offensive side of the ball but their defense looks elite, which should be good enough to see them win games as a result of keeping the opposition to low scores.
10. Denver Broncos
They move up a couple of spaces and I wouldn't be surprised if they continue to move up spaces as the season progresses.
11. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
A decent win on the road in Atlanta which puts them top of the NFC South, a division that even a middle of the road Buccaneers team should win.
12. Cincinnati Bengals
Dare I say that there were glimpses of the Cincinnati team from a few years ago on Sunday. I do have a soft spot for the Bengals so I hope I'm right.
13. San Francisco 49ers
The Seahawks are a strange team for me, I can't quite decide if they are very good or not. But regardless, you can only beat the team in front of you and San Francisco took care of business.
14. Pittsburgh Steelers
The Steelers look better than I thought they would, but I'm hoping Rodgers and co's performance was fueled by Jets hatred than actually being go. We'll see but for right now they are 14th.
15. Minnesota Vikings
JJ McCarthy looks the real deal and good for them in Minnesota if he is. The Bears win while important is only one win, and they will have much tougher tests ahead.
16. Houston Texans
Like the Patriots, they have very real OL issues and the LA defense proved that on Sunday. Hard to see them challenging without addressing that, although their division may mean they make the playoffs still.
17. Dallas Cowboys
Dallas didn't look very good at all and dropped a few places from a week ago. They probably could have done with a player like Parson, huh.
18. Arizona Cardinals
Hard to decide where to put them so they remain unchanged, simply because they beat a way way worse team in the Saints.
19. Atlanta Falcons
I think Atlanta could be a playoff berth team and they were close to winning against Tampa but for now they sit at 19th.
20. Las Vegas Raiders
Not much to say here, they beat the Pats but the Pats bar a quarter and a half weren't good at all. Jury still out on LV.
21. Seattle Seahawks
Like I said under the 49ers rank, I'm not sure if Seattle are that good or not but I'm confident there are a number of teams worse off than them.
22. Indianapolis Colts
This one might shock people, especially since people seemed to be super high on Indy. I moved them up a couple of spots but they beat a truly horrific team in Miami so I'll wait to see how they fare out instead of yo-yoing them up and down the rankings.
23. Jacksonville Jaguars
Good win for the Jags but I didn't have Carolina as a threat to many teams a week ago so like Indy, I'll wait to see more.
24. New York Jets
The Jets played quite well, I thought, and very nearly beat Pittsburgh, only issue is I have seen many Jets teams turn up against the Patriots or a team they have a gripe with and then soil the bed the rest of the year. We'll see.
25. Chicago Bears
The Bears aren't that good, they are better than 7 teams in the league, imo, but again I wouldn't shout from the rafters about that either.
26. New England Patriots
A quarter and a half of good football and the rest was horrible. LV didn't have to be good. A lot of work needed in New England.
27. Miami Dolphins
They fall a few places. I thought Miami would be a top 20 team, but then again I thought the Patriots would be a top 20 team also. Really poor showing and you know what? After the Pats showing in Foxborough, I'm not confident they will beat Miami.
28. Tennessee Titans
Mile High is a difficult place to go but that performance had no substance. It will be a long year for Tennessee.
29. Cleveland Browns
I genuinely feel sorry for Browns fans, they have rarely had games to have hope for. Maybe next year.
30. Carolina Panthers
It is difficult to say the same thing differently but multiple teams but there just aren't good.
31. New York Giants
I actually wanted Daboll as our Head Coach. Might not have been my finest picks. NY is ruthless so he won't have much time to turn things around.
32. New Orleans Saints
A bit like the Pats without Brady, the Saints without Brees are clueless and regressing year on year. Only reason I'm optomistic about the Pats versus the Saints is the defense.
